What is The Fumigation Process?

Fumigation is the process of tenting and sealing off a home and pumping in specialized chemicals called fumigants to eradicate and exterminate a wide spread bug problem. It is also used to get rid of hard to exterminate bugs like bed bugs and termites.

  • Removing all living things from the home such as pets and animals, plants, and all people.
  • Bagging up any open item in the house including things that are in cabinets and drawers. If in doubt, bag it up. The fumigants are strong and you don't want to ruin anything in your home.
  • Remove all valuables in the home. Although the house will be tented and sealed, thieves may see it as an opportunity. This is dangerous as it is filled with deadly chemicals but why take a chance?
  • Our expert exterminators and fumigators will come and tent the home with a strong fumigation tarp. They will seal it at all the openings with sandbags or other heavy objects.
  • Before pumping in the chemicals, the exterminator will walk through the home to make sure all doors, windows, drawers, and cabinets are left open.
  • When all above steps are completed the tenting and fumigation process will begin. The chemicals will be pumped into the home and then allowed to aerate throughout the home. This process can take between 24-72 hours depending on the size of the home.
  • After the pest control company gives the ok, you can move back into your home pest free!
